Police Chaplaincy

 

Chaplaincy and its role in policing is not the foremost thought on most officers' mind on a day to day basis.  That is, until some form of tragedy strikes and at that time the police chaplain is often central to the activities that follow.

Chaplaincy to uniform services has been around for many decades and primarily related to the military.  It wasn't until 1973 that chaplaincy took a foothold in the North American policing and it has grown slowly and steadily since then. 

Police chaplaincy is an ecumenical, interfaith and interdenominational service to police and law enforcement services across Canada.
