Police Advanced Programming is intended as career long knowledge, skills and abilities development through an officers length of service. The vast majority of this programming is funded by either the federal and/or provincial governments, or the members police service and selection and participation is usually controlled through the police services' Training Officer.

The Canadian Police Knowledge Network (CPKN), a not-for-profit organization, is Canada's leading provider of online training solutions for police officers. Working with subject matter experts from police training academies and police services across Canada, CPKN delivers highly effective, economical, and engaging e-learning courses to meet the needs of police services.
